Iconic Adelaide music venue Jive has some big news – it is about to add a record store to its mezzanine level during the day!

A collaboration between Jive’s owner Tam, and friends Phil & Robert, the upstairs balcony will transform into the ‘pop up’ Jive Record Bar by day, housing hundreds of new and used vinyl records, CDs, cassettes, and tour t-shirts, as well as second hand turntables, speakers and amplifiers.

Phil has been a long time collector, so stocks will be replenished on a weekly basis – which means you’ll always find new records to peruse! Rock, punk, classical, pop, dance, world  – they’re all there and much more.

Open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12pm to 6pm, you’ll also be able to lounge in the downstairs level bar, where you’ll also find coffee, and toasted sandwiches supplied by The Sneaky Pickle. Records playing, movies on the big screen, free board games & foosball. Sweet.

Come night time, the record bar will be put to bed so Jive can continue to operate as the vibrant live music venue we know and love!

The Jive Record Bar opens to the public on Tuesday 3 November, so head over and buy a record, have a beer, or just lounge about listening to some cool tunes.

Nice one, Jive.
