The Crown & Anchor Hotel, situated on the Corner of Union and Grenfell streets is only a short walk from the madness of Rundle St. It has long been a home to musicians and fans of live and original music as well as show casing some of the most innovative (definitely the friendliest!) Truth Corroded, Flat Stanely, Yakspit, The Mavis', Temporal Lobe, Circle Clan, Muzzy Pep, The Selfish Gene, Brillig, Scissor Pretty, Where's The Pope, Enemy of?, The Violets, H-Block 101, SixFt Hick, The Iron Sheik's, Fiona Horne, The Whiprods, King Daddy, Babydoll, Heather Frahn, Baterz, The New Pollutants, Rob Snarski and Dan Luscombe (Black Eyed Susans), Lazaro's Dog, The Blood Sucking Freaks, and The Spazzy's are just a tiny example of the many and varied musicians who are part of the Crown & Anchor's success as a live music venue. What rocks on a Monday night in Adelaide? The Crown & Anchor does; until 3am! If you're in the hospitality industry it rocks especially hard for you... with staff prices on the basics all night and free 8-ball and juke 11pm-2am. The Crown and Anchor is promoting a new Thursday night which features two of the hottest Adelaide and National bands each week, along with the all vinyl DJ stylings of DJ Alice. It’s completely free entry and there are some smashing drink specials including $10 Coopers jugs, $5 jager bombs and beam mixes. This night and the drink specials are available to absolutely anyone who wants to get out of the house on a Thursday night, and be rewarded by some amazing talent.
