Heavily influenced in the beginning by his fathers record collection of old blues and jazz, these days, however, Corey finds inspiration from more contemporary artists such as Coner Oberst and the Tallest Man on Earth. Hurrell's music combines his hillbilly past with his hipster present and draws its themes from the personal heart aches one experiences in this life, to adolescent hijinks and back again.
