Nexus Cabaret has been at the heart of the diverse world music culture in Adelaide. Now, celebrating its 25th year in 2009, Nexus is expanding its performing arts program to include Rockabilly, Hip Hop, Blues, African Drumming, Bollywood, Gypsy and many more.

Voices of the Silk Road

Kashkul & Feroz Asani Group perform music from the ancient trade route. Soul searing songs from two regions of the Silk Road featuring the amazing vocal talents of Shiva Aryanpad with Kashkul Ensemble.
The Kashkul Ensemble is an original traditional Persian ensemble, bringing you the exotic sounds of ancient Persia with their Tar (Lute), Kamancheh (Bowed string instrument), Oud (Lute), and Daf (frame Drum) and melodies sung divinely by Shiva. They will be presenting traditional Persian classical & folk songs.
Feroz Asani is a highly accomplished Afghan vocalist trained in the poetic music of four languages of the region. His songs celebrate millennia of civilizations where sung poetry has been one of the highest and most esteemed art forms.
