One of Australia’s most treasured songwriters Archie Roach will be the guest of honour at the next APRA AMCOS “Songwriter Speaks” edition.
At this free event open to APRA AMCOS Members, Archie will discuss his history, influences and share some of his songwriting secrets in an informal conversation with fellow Aboriginal artist Glenn Skuthorpe.
Over thirty years in the music industry, Archie has released 10 albums and shared the stage with some of the world’s most iconic artists, including Leonard Cohen, Rodriguez, Bob Dylan, Tracy Chapman, Billy Bragg, Paul Simon and Joan Armatrading. Having being part of the stolen generations himself, Archie has also become a powerful voice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.
Speaking with Archie will be Adelaide’s Glenn Skuthorpe, who’s music journey transcends the crossroads of country, roots and blues.
Come to Nexus Multicultural Arts Centre on Monday 23 February, from 11am-12:30pm. Light catering will be provided.
Please note this is not a public event – and it is essential for APRA AMCOS Members to RSVP.
