ABC recording artist and lead-singer of aria award-winning The Audreys, Taasha Coates, has just announced that the next single from her Shane Nicholson-produced debut solo album, Taasha Coates and Her Melancholy Sweethearts, will be “High Times”.
A national tour has been scheduled to coincide with the release of the new single, and Taasha will be kicking it all off in Adelaide on May 27th.
“I can’t wait to get back on the road with my solo record,” Taasha says of her upcoming tour. “I was going through quite a rough patch when I wrote this record, but I love singing these songs. They’re so personal and honest, and “High Times” in particular, so much so that I even made Tristan play it with me at some recent shows with The Audreys. After telling the audience the song was about all my exes, he liked to joke that everyone should settle in because it was going to be a long night. Cheeky bastard.”
