If you’re a fan of quality music with a leaning towards alt. country, indie folk, singer/songwriter, acoustic, and a touch of indie rock, chances are you’ve been to The Wheatsheaf Hotel in Thebarton.
Just outside the CBD, “The Wheaty” is a no nonsense yet classy pub, run with heart and soul. “Simple” is their motto, though we’d argue that their beer and whiskey lists are anything but! They’ve even turned their talents to their own exclusive Wheaty brews, made on site and always something unique.
Their spacious band room has hosted many a fine local, national and international act under the stage’s fairy lights, and it known for having great sound and feel. During Fringe the venue has hosted art exhibitions, cabaret, performance art and of course, music.
In fact, it has a whopping 11 different music shows in the 2016 season – one of the highest counts for a local live music venue – offering everything from blues to jazz, classic pop hits to ‘yacht rock.’ You can’t go wrong.
